A Tradition of Cancer Awareness in October

Each October for the past five years, SPIRE staff have been given the opportunity to donate to the American Cancer Society and wear special pink and white apparel. Since 2015, SPIRE staff have raised over $8,000 for the American Cancer Society to help find cures and treatments for all types of cancer.

This year, staff will be wearing pink masks throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help raise awareness of the continued need for research and treatments for all cancers.  In Minnesota alone, over 32,000 new cancer cases have been reported so far in 2020 by the American Cancer Society.

“As part of our core action to give back, 'Pinktober' has become a great tradition at SPIRE over the last five years,” stated SPIRE President/CEO Dan Stoltz, "Everyone is affected somehow by cancer and I'm proud that our staff chooses to be part of the solution here in Minnesota."

The annual Pinktober fundraiser is just one of several charitable opportunities that SPIRE staff and members participate throughout the year. To learn more, please visit myspire.com/giveback.
